This item is described as "... black bakelite plastic..." with a picture of the original package. However, what was delivered was the cheap plastic knockoff of the type currently being sold by the mfg, but is in no way as thick and durable as the original Bakelite cap. It is not delivered in the original package as the seller implies by the picture, and I don't believe it is even manufactured by Oster. AVOID... It won't last long!

It's just the replacement part I needed. My wife twisted the original piece too strong while having the thread mis-aligned, causing the plastic to break. Now I have a new part and a spare as well.

I was very pleased with the new blender cap that I received. It's installation made use of my blender possible again and my husband and children were thrilled to be able to make whipped drinks again.

When the original jar bottom was broken for apparently no reason within a few days, I felt very disappointed. I was thinking of returning the Blender. Then, after reading the reviews I came to know it is a common problem and I ordered a Jar bottom from Amazon. When it reached, I could very easily differentiate between the original one and the replacement one. The new one looks much more durable, thick and a good quality plastic. It has been over a month I am using that and I am happy with this.
